  1. In shortage of Radiographer even TM / CEO performs RT,
  2. If additional Camera is required then it is picked up from Remote site or Permanent Lab. and work is managed.

NDT Procedures

Gamma Rays – Radiography:
  • Test items: Castings, forgings and Weldments
  • Thickness: Up to 150 mm
  • Application: Surface defects and internal flaws such as cracks, blow holes etc
Soft X-Rays – Radiography:
  • Test items: Castings, forgings and Weldments
  • Thickness: < 12 mm
  • Application: Internal flaws in critical components used in Automobiles, Aerospace etc.
Ultrasonic:
  • Test items: Alloy Steels, Castings (without Coarse Grain Material), Forgings and Weldments
  • Thickness: Penetrates up to full depth
  • Application: For depth and size of internal flaws
Magnetic Particle:
  • Test items: Investment and Sand Castings and Weldments
  • Application: Surface and Sub Surface defects for ferrous material
Liquid Penetrant:
  • Test items: Castings and Weldments
  • Application: To evaluate the Open surface defects such as porosity and fine cracks
Thickness Measurement:
  • Test items: Castings (without Coarse Grain Material) and Weldments
  • Application: For thickness Measurement
